Parenting….the ever so common question “How was school?”
As a teenager I’m sure every one has heard the ever so common question of “How was school?” And I’m sure every parent has heard the “Fine, ok or good” answer. Unfortunately that’s where most conversations end. In my opinion it shouldn’t be like that.
One, of the ways, to get your teen to be open with you is to keep the questions coming, this way you get them used to the question and they know that ok fine or good are not going to be good enough.
My aunt used to do this with me when I came home from school, she would also ask what I did, my answer at first was “nothing, the same old stuff”, and she would reply with “you went to school and did nothing?” Or “well that’s boring you did the same things as yesterday, I should go have a talk with your teachers so they can teach you something new” scary part was…she would actually do it. so then I started telling her more about what I did each day, the main points of each class mainly, things that intrigued me and things that scared me too…mostly related to testing and grades. I started being very open with my aunt. I let her know “almost” everything…every teen is entitled to their secrets.
My aunt had been doing this interrogation technic with me since I was in first grade, which is how she found out I was being bullied for not speaking english and did something about it.
Good communication skills with your kids start since day one in school, meaning preschool, yet you can start at any point. Take into consideration the later you start the more difficult it will be.
If at first it doesn’t work, don’t give up. It may take a couple if tries but eventually it will work.
Let me know how things work out and ways you get your teen to open up.

Pizza Croissants!!
I’m a huge fan of pizza and so are my siblings…I’m pretty sure that when my little boy grows he will be as well. Therefore I decided to pin this and make it…just to see how it would come out. I also added my own little hint of creativity :)
First I must say not to ask for quantities for I don’t really measure when I’m cooking my own recipe, only when I’m following instructions.
Ingredients you’ll need:
McCormick Italian Seasoning
Minced Garlic
Butter
String Cheese
Pepperoni
Pillsbury Croissant rolls
First in a little bowl, the smallest you can find put about a table spoon of butter the minced gralic and italian seasonings…put it in the microwave until butter is completely melted..time varies in different microwave mine took 40 seconds.
Now you have this:

Make sure you stir it after you take it out of the microwave.
Get the croissant rolls and spread them on a plate for preparation. With a food brush (shown above) spread the garlic butter across them like this:

Then add the pepperoni, it can be as many as you want. On average I put 3 in each. Then follow with the string cheese. you should now have this:

Roll it up as you would a croissant, then with your brush spread a little garlic butter on top just to give it a bit more taste…like this:

Make sure you spread some pam or you can even use the garlic butter. With your brush spread some on your cookie sheet or on aluminum foil so they wont stick. Put them in the oven for about 10-12 minutes until golden brown.

Then just served them with your favorite dipping sauce…in my case it’s ranch.

They taste just like PIZZA!! Mu husband who is a very picky eater enjoyed them a lot! he even made me do a second batch :D
I hope you guys enjoy them as much as we did. Take care and see you soon :)
